I received this "Os Meus Shorts" album as a gift. Os Meus Shorts is Nico Roig on baritone guitar plus Joachim Badenhorst on bass clarinet. I was familiar with Joachim Badenhorst as I saw him with Han Bennink a little while ago, but Nico Roig didn't ring the proverbial bell, let alone the baritone guitar.
You can imagine that I was happy to give this disc a spin.
"Os Meus Shorts" offers 28 tracks, and the compositions could be defined as contemporary, experimental music. The music itself sounds very melodic but also calm and relaxing. I guess that it's the timbre of the instruments that has this effect on me.
It's remarkable how the sound of a baritone guitar and a bass clarinet blend and how these two musicians complement each other.
