Pierre Vervloesem has just released "Dark Matter".
1. Dark Matter 1 - 25:02
2. Dark Matter 2 - 25:50
2 long pieces so intriguing and intense, so full of (dark) matters that you have to listen to, to find your own language to describe the music!
Dark Matter 1 :
The Under the Reefs Orchestra has just released their second album : "Sakurajima".
Under the Reefs Orchestra is a volcanic power trio that navigates between hypnotic post rock and stormy jazz. Grasping for the infinite and always threatening total combustion, their music finds its cruising speed in the storm of permanent upheaval. Based in Brussels and led by guitarist Clément Nourry, the group also includes saxophonist Marti Melia and drummer Jakob Warmenbol, both of them members of the punk jazz band Don Kapot. These three musicians have worked extensively throughout the kinetic Brussels music scene, and bring their unique individual voices together in an improvised and free form style. Under the Reefs Orchestra is following up their eponymous 2020 debut album with Sakurajima, an album which evokes images and textures that are both apocalyptic and divine and echoes the contemporary chaos that surrounds us all. But neither is their music ‘commentary’, and its instrumental quality functions equally as an escape. Sakurajima is led by the guitar work of Clément Nourry while also allowing generous space for the dynamic saxophone work of Marti Melia, and is as much 19th century chamber music as it is Jim O’Rourke, Soundgarden, King Crimson, or Morphine. The immediacy of Under the Reefs Orchestra's music allows the listener to freely seize a profusion of moods and states of being.
I love this !!
What a fine discovery.
The same package also included "I'm Hip", presenting another fine set of jazz, blues and pop songs.
Nice. Very nice.
The digipack opens like a package. Part to the left and part to the right. Quite fancy.

Dickey Betts was one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band. He recorded and toured with the Allman Brothers Band until 2000.
Dickey released his first solo albums in 1974. "Pattern Disruptive" was his fourth solo release. It got released in 1988 (after a difficult search for a contract/ label).
Next to Dickey Betts (guitar and lead vocals), the album features a couple of familiar names: Warren Haynes (guitar & vocals), Johnny Neel (keyboards, vocals), Marty Privette (bass), and Matt Abts (drums).
Food for guitar freaks, with several typical Allman Brothers 'twin guitar' parts.
Blues rock at its best.
Here's one of the softer tunes, 'Duane's Tune', written by Dickey Betts.

Frank Zappa - Il Padrino del Rock
by Sergio Michelangelo Albonico & Stefano Milioni
October 1987, Los Angeles, California. A young Italian photographer is hired to document the rehearsals and first dates of "Broadway The Hard Way", the new tour of Frank Zappa, one of the most eccentric, inventive and controversial figures in rock history.
For the occasion, Zappa put together a twelve-piece band, chosen from among the best in circulation in the United States, and conceived the show with four different programmes to be presented on the various evenings: each musician will have to learn to perfection around 300 songs from his repertoire. A titanic feat, even for what many did not hesitate to define as the best band ever assembled by the Italian-American composer and musician. ...

The upcoming Arthur Brown album will be called "Monster's Ball".
https://cleorecs.com/store/shop/arthur-brown-monsters-ball-cd/
The terrifyingly entertaining new studio album from God of Hellfire and theatrical rock icon, Arthur Brown!
This macabre-themed masterpiece finds Brown joined by a murderer's row of talented collaborators including The Stooges' James Williamson, Gong's Steve Hillage, Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice, Vanilla Fudge's Mark Stein, Hawkwind co-founder Nik Turner, R&B superstar Shuggie Otis, and so much more! Includes original tracks co-written with producer Alan Davey as well as superb cover versions and a fantastic update of Brown's signature hit "Fire!"
Adrian Belew and Steve Vai contributed to Todd Rundgren's new album, "Space Force".
(To be released on October 14)
Here's 'Puzzle', the Rundgren / Belew coorporation for this new release.
Guitar World added:
Alongside the announcement, Rundgren has shared the album’s opening track, Puzzle, which was created in collaboration with Belew. This is not their only work together, though. As previously reported, the pair are currently putting together their Celebrating David Bowie shows for the coming fall and have recently added more dates to the tour.
I don't know if it's the above comment by Guitar World, but this is great song (and it has a Bowie-vibe).
André Lewis and his wife, Maxayn Lewis, performed and recorded with White Chocolate.

Sun Ra has released numerous albums.
He also re-issued these in various mutations. Side A from one album with side B from another album, to give a typical example.
And if that's not enough, some albums got re-released with a different title, or with different artwork, sometimes adding or omitting tracks.
Here's a couple of artwork versions for "Sunrise In Different Dimensions".
And then you notice that the CD re-issues are missing a couple of tracks...
Still, a remarkable album.
Here's a clip from 2016 when Sinister Sister performed Zappa in Michel's back yard (Ham Session).

From the Cherry Red newsletter
Greetings once again, Eyeball observers. It's us!
We hope all is well with you and yours - The Residents have asked us to check in that you're all doing OK in these curious times, and to let you know that they're fine, thanks for asking. Their 50th Anniversary proceedings are on their collective hive mind, and 'Triple Trouble' is out in the world. The rest is white noise.
The big news is that 'Triple Trouble' is coming home to San Francisco, as part of the 45th Mill Valley Film Festival. It'll be screening at The Roxie Theater (3117 16th Street, SF) on Saturday, October 15th, at 7pm, and The Residents themselves will be performing at the Sweetwater Music Hall (19 Corte Madera Avenue) a couple of days before on Thursday, October 13th, previewing their upcoming 50th Anniversary Faceless Forever tour. Tickets for the screening are available now at mvff.com – tickets for the concert go on sale on September 13th, again via mvff.com. Hubba!
Mill Valley Film Festival Screening & Sweetwater Music Hall Show
And there's more - the Arizona Underground Film Festival will also be showing the movie on September 17th (all you need on that one here: https://azuff.org/2022films/triple-trouble/), whilst The Residents' Antipodean pals can stream it as part of the Sydney Underground Film Festival, right HERE:
https://suff2022.eventive.org/films/62e48e29ce203e005b3f15ff?. As we speak, the group's representatives are negotiating further appearances, which you just know you'll be the first to hear about as they happen.
Fittingly, an accompanying Official Soundtrack Album has also been announced, released November 18th. It does what you'd expect of a 'Triple Trouble' OST, and arrives in a very pleasing hard-backed book, full of photographs and words. You can read all about it, and pick up a copy if you think it seems like a good deal...
Our great pals at Psychofon will also be accommodating the collectors among you with their usual range of brilliant vinyl editions - more HERE : https://www.psychofonrecords.com/shop/? - if that's your kinda thing.
And what of that 50th Anniversary? It's a big one, no doubt about that. The Residents feel sure there'll be a selection of self-congratulatory reissues, best-ofs, encyclopaedias, t-shirts and live shows to mark the occasion, and word is that 'Santa Dog 2022' is also coming our way. Oh, and there's a plan afoot for a Record Store Day release intended to use one anniversary to commemorate another. Or so it says here. That one sounds cool.
More info on all of that as we have it, dear friends. As ever, keep your third eyes well squeegee'd and enjoy the ride.
Your Pals,
New Ralph Too

In about a month, on October 7, 2022, The Universe By Ear will release their third album, aptly called "III".
The first single of the album is out.
It's a 7-minute epos entitled 'Salty Water'.
Quite the appetizer !!
Check it out!
The Universe By Ear likes to go against the flow.
Their first album did not have a title. It got released in 2017. Their second album didn't have a title either. It got released in 2019...
The next single from the upcoming album will be 'Sail Around The Sun'.
The band commented :
and since the song is a chunk of over 12 minutes, we will release the video in four palatable parts:

- 23. september 2022: „Sail Around The Sun" Part 2
- 30. september 2022: „Sail Around The Sun" Part 3
- 7. october 2022: (complete) „Sail Around The Sun" Parts 1-4
Two third of the trio is part of Fido Plays Zappa. It might explain the weirdness...

This is what an upcoming Grateful Dead box set looks like.
Incredible.
It's a 17 CD set, packed in a horizontal long box...
Should we show this to the guy who's going to be responsible for the Zappa releases at Universal?
Arthur Barrow joined Frank Zappa's band in 1978.
Shortly thereafter, he became 'clonemaster', the person in charge of the band's rehearsals.
Arthur stayed in Zappa's band until 1982.
In 1991, Arthur released a solo album called "Music For Listening". It featured the Fowler Brothers and Robert Williams, to name a few.
"Eyebrow Razor" followed in 1995, again with lots of Zappa alumni.
In 1999, Arthur released his 3rd record, "AB3", followed by "On Time" in 2003.
All these albums are worth checking out.
More recently, Arthur has been releasing his music (old & new material) through Bandcamp.
Here is one of his recent pieces, 'Cool2B', with Larry Klimas on sax:
Berlin-based Jazzanova...
They released "The Sound Of Detroit, Re-Imaginated by Jazzanovo" earlier this year.
Haven't heard that one, but "The Singles Collection 1997-2000" sure sounds fine.
"George Duke Waka Jawaka session demos 1972"
Three George Duke pieces, later released on "The Aura Will Prevail" and "Faces In Reflection".
Feat. FZ on guitar.
