ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA

Dweezil Zappa will soon embark on another Zappa Plays Zappa tour.

Flashback to 2008 when he released "Zappa Plays Zappa".
It was made available as a single CD album (worldwide release), but also as a 2 DVD set (in the US and in Europe), and even as a 2 DVD / 3 CD deluxe set (in the US).

I only recently learned that there was also a 2 DVD / CD combination. It got released in Australia and in New Zealand. Also in 2008.
I got hold of a copy and it even looks like a promo copy as it has a "Sample Product - Not For Sale" sticker on the back.

I decided to make the "reality show" because I wanted to be sure to include all of the international fans in some way with this tour. If we can't come play for you, you can come to us via the show!

The plan is to have a whole series that leads up to the first show and by X-mas this year release an entire filmed concert from the tour! (Possibly even a blue-ray disc with ATMOS mixes!)

For anyone who wants to support the tour directly, this upcoming series will be a great way to stay caught up and witness great performances along with unique stories.

Dweezil Zappa has just released ‘Be-Bop Tango (Baby Giraffe)' through his Reward Music platform.
Recorded during the Zappa Plays Zappa Roxy & Elsewhere tour in 2014.

18 minutes of musical madness.

For the past several months I've been gathering new audio content for release. After doing some mastering tweaks I'm just beginning the process of uploading the material. Over the next 2 weeks there will be more mini concerts, a full 2 1/2 hour concert and a plethora of individual live song releases added to the Silver Subscriber Plan.

ONE SHOT DEAL

Several musicians from the Zappa Plays Zappa band are getting together to perform Frank Zappa's music.
This is not a new band or a strange variation of an existing band. It's just a one shot deal.

The last couple of months, Dweezil made quite a number of podcasts on the subject of the late Edward Van Halen, called "Runnin' With The Dweezil". It featured Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, to name just three.

A couple of days ago, Dweezil started releasing music again. 
"Cup Of Joe" is a Mini Concert series that uses the Zappa Plays Zappa concerts as a source of material.

The soundtrack of the documentary about Rachel Flowers has been made available on CD.

Rachel became known through a number of YouTube movies where she performed some great music, including a couple of Frank Zappa tunes.
Shortly thereafter, she got invited on stage during a Zappa Plays Zappa concert.
The recording of Rachel with the Dweezil 'ZpZ' Zappa band perfoming 'Montana' is the closing track on this soundtrack.
