- amk: the lonesome echo
(2009, cd, usa, transparency 0352)
Talking about the Transparency label, here's AMK's "The Lonesome Echo".
AMK is an american experimental musician who puzzles sounds into compositions. On "The Lonesome Echo" he used records, turntables, flexi discs and field recordings.
AMK builds his soundscapes by means of repetition of samples and sounds, on top of which he puts other sounds.
You won't hear this on your local radio station...

and he STOLE the covering painting from Salvador Dali (it was used for the Jacke Gleason album of same name)
ReplyDelete'Stole' might be a bit exaggerated as Salvador Dali is mentioned in the liner notes. He even gets a picture on the back cover.
ReplyDeleteIt's all part of "The Lonesome Echo"...
