SANDY HURVITZ / ESSRA MOHAWK

"Sandy's album is here at last" is getting an upgrade / reissue.
Originally released on Frank Zappa's Bizarre Records label.
In 1968.

Read all about it here :
http://www.gonzomultimedia.co.uk/search/product_details/16149/Essra_Mohawk-Sandy's_Album_Is_Here_At_Last.html

She was scheduled to perform at the Woodstock Festival in August 1969, but her manager missed the turn in the road, resulting in them arriving too late to perform. Sadly, this seems an encapsulation of her entire career. She has made some fantastic music, but always seems to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

PIERRE VERVLOESEM FEAT. MORGAN AGREN - ARTISTE INTERNATIONAL

Wowie Zowie !!
A lot of excellent music has been released the last couple of months. There's the Ed Palermo jazz album, The Zappa In New York set, new titles in The Residents' pREServed series plus their "In Between Dreams Live" album, and there's Pierre Vervloesem's brand-new "Artiste International"!!

It seems like Pierre's previous release, "Artiste Belge", only got released a couple of months ago and now he's already back with the follow-up, "Artiste International".
This time, it's not just Pierre with his guitar, bass and machine wizardry as he is joined by Morgan Ã…gren, drummer extraordinaire who just finished recording and performing with Magma and who will soon join Devin Townsend on his new tour.

They're a perfect match.
The result is amazing. 12 instrumental, energetic tracks.
I've played the album at least once every day this week (together with Frank Zappa's "Quaudiophiliac" if you really want to know) and it keeps putting a huge smile on my face.

My cup of tea !
Essential listening.
Also out on CD but you'll need to hurry as there are only fourty-something copies left !!

MARKUS REUTER, MIKE KENEALLY AND MORGAN AGREN TO TOUR WITH DEVIN TOWNSEND

Leonardo (MoonJune) Pavkovic on Facebook :

Now it can be loudly and officially said in public. Markus Reuter is joining Devin Townsend’s band for the upcoming European tour which starts in Paris, November 15. Markus Reuter is one of the greatest music and guitar talents who emerged in this century and I am more than happy to know he has chance to expand his already great career. Bravo Reuterschaft! And Devin’s band also features Mike Keneally and Morgan Ã…gren, among others.

THE ED PALERMO BIG BAND AT THE MORNING JAZZ RADIO SHOW

Ed visited Morning Jazz with the entire group to chat about their latest album, A Lousy Day In Harlem (Sky Cat Records).

The first number they performed was a mash-up of Frank Zappa, Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington, with a Frederick Lowe finish on "Get Me To The Church On Time." Take some time to hear what I’m talkin’ about.
