HUMBLE GRUMBLE

Humble Grumble performed at the Burg Herzberg Festival (Freakstage) about ten days ago.

BOMA FAMILY - LIVE BIJ DE VIEZE GASTEN

Boma Family features Wouter Vandenabeele, Tom Theuns and Humble Grumble mastermind Gabor Vörös.

About 15 years ago, the three musicians lived together in the same house in Ghent in the Bomastraat, hence the name, Boma Family.
At the time, they performed in bands like Dearest Companion, Think Of One and Humble Grumble.

The three of them were invited to perform at the Sepsiszentgyorgy festival in Transsylvania in 2012, and the reunion was a fact.
Fans of twisted folk music should definitely check this out.

FOLLIA!

Belgium-based band Follia! combines folk and jazz.
They released their first album in 2004 and a second one in 2006.
A couple of months ago, a new album came out.

Follia! is a project by Johan and Pieter Decancq and by Sammy Lee Daese.
A bagpipe ! And flutes. "Kiss Me You Fool!" is a nice surprise and an excellent introduction to Follia!.
"Contemporary Belgian/Flemish folk(rock) performed on bagpipes, diatonic accordion, tamborine, violin; flutes, schalmei, piano, electric guitar, bass, percussion and drums."

• follia!: grasshopper

Follia!'s second album, "Grasshopper" is a cheerful successor to "Kiss Me You Fool!".
Catchy melodies, beautiful arrangements and a nice groove.
The album features Humble Gabor Vörös (Humble Grumble) on the guitar.

Follia!'s latest (and eponymous) album not only looks great but it sounds great as well. Rich sounds and arrangements, very melodic, highly varied.
The line-up has slightly changed. The new line-up features Indra Boone on vocals and Nicolaas Cottenie on violin.
Produced by Humble Gabor Vörös, who also takes care of the guitar parts.
There are more Humble Grumble links with Houni Isoherranen on bass and special guests Megan Quill and Liesbeth Verlaet on 'Dabba Dabba'.

In 1996, the newly formed Humble Grumble quintet toured Switzerland and Germany and recorded two demos. The first one was called "The Golden Pile", and the second one "The Tom And Gabor Special".

These early recordings featured Tom Theuns and Gabor 'Humble' Vörös and the music is much more psychedelic / folk-oriented.
Ten years after the recording of "The Tom and Gabor Special" a limited edition was made available as a private release. With remarkable cover artwork by mortt.

I just finished listening to the latest Humble Grumble album. It got released a little while ago already, but it had been a while since I had listened to it.
