Today's discovery: Chris Cochrane's Collapsible Shoulder Big Band.
The Collapsible Shoulder released "Everywhere" in 2016, a 7-track EP.
"e v e r y w h e r e" - the first release by Collapsible Shoulder - formed by Chris Cochrane, featuring Brian Chase, Kato Hideki, and Kevin Bud Jones.
Collapsible Shoulder's music is drawn from its members' years in the downtown NYC and Brooklyn music scenes: neo-psychedelic with unpredictable twists and turns, an electronic-acoustic-sonic mash.
A couple of months ago, "e v e r y w h e r e" got a follow-up.
"Live 2019 - A Map Of Books", released as a digital download / streaming album on the Cuneiform record label.
The music displays the same atmosphere, but it's being performed by a larger group of musicians, hence the larger instrumentation.
(And just to be clear: It's not Big Band, but it's a big Band.)
Very nice.
