In 2025, Spinifex presents MAXXIMUS, a special project celebrating the ensemble's 20th anniversary. With this extended ensemble, Spinifex explores more acoustic sound worlds than in their regular sextet line-up. You’ll hear the colors of a (low) string trio, vibraphone, bass clarinet and bass saxophone.

The Maxximus premiere took place at Opus Jazz Club (BMC) Budapest. Another performance took place at Divadlo 29 (Pardubice, Czech Republic) where Spinifex was in residence for this project and also recorded a new album that will come out on November 14th 2025.
