SHARP ELEVEN ELECTRIC BAND

I just returned home from the Jazz Kitchen festival in Oud Turnhout, BE.
In my neighbourhood. Sort of.
Interesting line-up with the Lieven Cambré Quartet (Muze Jazz Orchestra!!) and with Moon Express (feat. Wizards Of Ooze's Hugo Bogaerts), but I went for the Sharp Eleven Electric Band.

The band started around 17h00 in the afternoon and despite an electrical shut-down halfway through their set, this was quite a dynamite show.
True, the mix could have been a bit better (the unison sax / guitar lines weren't audible), but this was a very impressive concert.

The quintet presented material from their "Donkey Dance" album.
Lyrical / quirky original tunes, a Brecker Brothers tribute, and a Chick Corea piece. Right up my alley.
You definitely need to see these guys live !!
  • Jorre Reynders - saxophones
  • Timothy Pedone - guitar
  • Andy Willems - keyboards
  • Ozan Bozdag - bass
  • Gerry Reynders - drums
Here is the band's concert at CC De Muse, from last year.
