A RESIDENTS UPDATE

from Cherry Red:

Oh hi,

Another month, another update on all things Residential - we hope you're having a tolerable summer, and that the fruits of your sowing are now ripe for harvest. Or so it says here.

You may have heard that The Residents' soon-to-be-classic feature film 'Triple Trouble' received its premier in Chicago last month, with both Cryptic Corporation President Homer Flynn and the film's producer Starr Sutherland in attendance. Well, more festival appearances are imminent, including a virtual showing at the Sydney Underground Film Festival for our Antipodean pals. You can check out the details and pre-order tickets right here:

As we speak, the guys are also preparing to announce the release of an Original Soundtrack Album to accompany the film, due out in November.

Aside from the film, The Residents are acutely aware that their FIFTIETH GODDAMN ANNIVERSARY is imminent this December. Wow. Fifty big ones. Half a century. Five decades. Call it what you will, it makes our heroes part of a very small, elite group of artists, and major international news coverage is, of course, a given. In the meantime, the Eyeballs have recently put the finishing touches to both an official Encyclopedia and 'Santa Dog 2022' to mark the occasion - more news on both over the coming months, but we've been privvy to sneak previews and are still trying to re-establish contact with normality. Watch the skies this December!

And having gotten both of those projects out of the way, the Eyeballs are now preparing to polish off their instruments and return to the stage after a few years of nothing but intermittent outings. Details on forthcoming dates can be found at residents.com/tourdates, whilst further performances, including at least one we're sworn to secrecy on, are due to be announced.

Adieu!

Your pals,
New Ralph Too
