DR. FREDDIE'S ATOMIC COMMOTION - CROQUETTE

For one of his recent musical endeavors, Fred Händl teamed up with Herrie Friend (guitar), Giacomo di Lindini (bass) and Coen Siersma (drums).
The quartet goes by the name of Dr. Freddie's Atomic Commotion and recently released their first album.
"Croquette" is quite an eclectic mix of tunes and styles. The album presents 12 tracks and kicks of with 'FWV 420', a Zappa-esque two chord vamp that offers the perfect backing for a keyboard and a guitar solo. An excellent start.
Next up is 'Son Of YourCatAteMine', a rather straight-forward guitar-oriented improvisation (?).
Track three, 'Touche Moi' is a disco synth pop tune, followed by 'Careful With That Axe, Freddie', a psychedelic nod to Pink Floyd...
And it goes on like this. Every track is something completely different.

"Croquette" displays an in-your-face attitude in the music that is presented.
Low-fi and chaotic at moments, but if you can listen beyond that, there's some interesting stuff to be found on this album.

Not included on the album: Performing a Frank Zappa piece in concert. From 2015:
