FLASHBACK TO ZAPPANALE 2022 (SUNDAY)

Sunday always is a bit of a strange day at Zappanale.
There's some excellent concerts at the Exhibition, there are always interesting gigs at the Mystery Stage, and there's at least one top band on the main stage.

On the other hand, there's always this 'fatigue' that enters the body and the (saturating) mind, and there's the obligatory 'goodbye session" which, in my humble opinion, is a bit over-rated.
Most of the time, it's some sort of chaotic jam session where eventually, if things work out, everybody tries to play the same tune, in the same key.
Joking aside, it is of course fun to see a lot of the participating musicians doing a jam, but I'm convinced that it is more enjoyable for the artists on stage than for the audience.

What I do appreciate are little guest appearances during concerts. People from one band sitting in with another band, even for one piece or one solo.
Doesn't even have to be one of the alumni. Seeing Stanley Jason Zappa doing a guest appearance during a concert of The Wrong Object will be remembered as one of my personal highlights.

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic...
Last year's Sunday at Zappanale kicked off with Coloseum.
It was followed by the 2022 top act: The Mike Keneally Report,
and it ended with a Goodbye session.
Two of these concerts were made available on DVDR during the festival and looked like this :

Here's the complete Mike Keneally report concert, as present on YouTube.
This is not the same recording as the one on the DVDR. This is an audience shot video, but a quite nice one.
Next to Mike's incredible pieces, the set included a couple of Zappa tunes (Sleep Dirt, The Jazz Discharge Party Hats !!), and a guest appearance from Robert Martin on an additional two Zappa songs.
