In recent weeks, I have been enjoying the YouTube videos from The Furious Bongos.

The Furious Bongos are a group of professional musicians that perform the music of Frank Zappa, and they are amazing !
The band has been doing concerts in different parts of the U.S.A. and are working on a European tour for next year !
Time for a (very) short chat as Conrad had to get up early to catch the flight to Europe.
UniMuta: Hi Conrad, do you guys consider playing the music of Frank Zappa as some sort of fun / hobby project? The band has quite an extended line-up (which results in an amazing sound). How may people are in the band?
Conrad : Yes, we're all professional musicians, but the Bongos are more than a side project. For a lot of us, it's the main focus (or a close #2). We're all working regularly with other gigs to actually pay the bills, but we also all try and keep the Bongos at the top of our priority list.
One of the hardest things for me on the production management side is having to dance between the raindrops to work out the tours, given 12 different people's schedules.
Without their cooperation and flexibility because they love doing the gig (it IS one of the most fun gigs I've ever toured with), I wouldn't be able to herd this many cats into the tour bus, I'll say that. :-)

* on Sunday afternoon, July 16 on the main stage.
