- fred frith and arte quartett: the big picture

British composer, improvisor and multi-instrumentalist Fred Frith was commissioned by the San Francisco-based Rova Saxophone Quartet to compose a suite. The resulting 23 pieces can be found on “Freedom In Fragments”, performed by the Rova Saxophone Quartet.
Track number 7, entitled ‘T Square Park Lark’, was dedicated to Frank Zappa.

Fred would later record the same piece with the Arte Quartett and release it on “The Big Picture” in 2009.
"The Big Picture" was Fred Frith's second release with the Arte Quartett, the other one being "Still Urban". Both out on the Swiss Intakt Records label.
