COMMERCIAL INTERRUPTION

Commercial Interruption is a Milford, Connecticut-based band that states:
"Playing OUR favorite tunes from the 60's and 70's".

As a happy coincidence, some of the band's favorite tunes are songs by Frank Zappa.
Needless to say that an investigation was at issue.

  • commercial interruption: 9
        (2018, cd, usa, private release)
And it seems that the band's statement that they perform their favorite tunes from the 60's and the 70's, is probably aimed at their concerts. More like a slogan. A nice one, though.
"9" presents nine tracks, all except one being original compositions.
Inspired by 60's and 70's surf / rock music, this is 'feel good' album.
Cherry on the cake is the final track: a clean and fast version of 'Son Of Suzy Creamcheese'. Love it !!

  • commercial interruption: ghosts in the attic
        (2021, cd, usa, private release)
"Ghosts In The Attick" has a bit more of a rock sound.
Again, mostly original pieces but with two exceptions: Frank Zappa's 'Twenty Small Cigars' and J.Kidd's 'Shakin' All Over'.
I really love the sound of this album. Add that the tunes are great and that their arrangement of 'Twenty Small Cigars' is beautiful, I can only recommend to give this a listen.

Commercial Interruption proves that bands that have a couple of Frank Zappa tunes on their repertoire are worth checking out.

You can find them on FaceBook

Visit their website (and be amazed by the Zappa songs these guys have on their repertoire !)
