A ZAPPANALE SATURDAY TO REMEMBER - PART ONE

Saturday opened with two concerts at the Exhibition location.
First up were Eugene Chadbourne and Schröder.
They played a beautiful set, with lots of melancholic and bluesy songs.
The first half had Eugene on electric guitar, while the second part had him performing on the banjo.
I was quite impressed with Schröder's drumming. Eugene just went from one song into the next the entire time and I don't think they had discussed the set list.
Highlight was 'Concentration Moon', dedicated to Jimmy Carl Black.

The second concert was actually a play. A re-worked version of "When Zappa Met Bach" that they had done last year at the Mystery Stage.
Tante Tofu, Christianne and Stoni, told the story of how Zappa met Bach in heaven and how they discussed music, performing some nice arrangements of pieces by both composers.
A crazy story with beautiful music.

What an excellent start of the day...
