BEESWAMP - SWEET STICKY STUFF

I guess it was last week, or maybe even the week before, that someone asked if the 'Space Is The Place' piece that Corrie van Binsbergen performed with her Grote Brokken Ensemble was the famous Sun Ra tune.
The answer was 'No', as the 'Space Is The Place' tune that the subscribers to the NederZappa newsgroup were discussing was written by Beatrice van der Poel.
Beatrice does the lead vocals in Corrie en de Grote Brokken, and the ensemble performs compositions from various members of the band. Mostly Corrie's, but also other stuff.

The nice thing about this NederZappa Newsgroup topic was the fact that I learned that two of the pieces that were written by Beatrice van de Pool got recorded and released by Beeswamp (Beatrice's band) in 1996.

I received the album yesterday and listened to it for the first time this morning.
"Sweet Sticky Stuff" is a funky, pop / jazz album. It underscores (again) the beautiful voice of Beatrice van der Poel, and it includes both 'Space Is The Place' and 'Break A Normal Day'. As I'm familiar with these two tunes, they immediately stand out, but I really like the entire album.
This is fun. This is funky.

Beeswamp. Nice.

Here's Beatrice with Corrie en de Grote Brokken, performing 'Break A Normal Day'.

And here's Beatrice and Vera van der Poel (both in Beeswamp - 'Poel' is dutch for 'Swamp') performing a couple of Prince tunes...
