- the trio of stridence: auditur periculosum
(2013, cd, usa, private release)
Remember The Trio Of Stridence "Pastrami Standards" album from 2005? A fine album that included the trio's version of Zappa's 'Zoot Allures'.
As Paul Marangoni states on his website:
"In the summer of 2010 I realized that it had been over five years since our first record, so I figured it would be a good time to start a new Trio project.
From that summer up until the record was completed in December of 2012, I moved three times and recorded in five different locations. There were many obstacles along the way, but somehow it all came together.
As with their previous release, the trio picked a number of classic jazz-rock and fusion tunes (Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, ...) and did an exellent job performing and recording them.
The disc presents fine versions of Zappa's 'Watermelon In Easter Hay' and 'King Kong'.
