SUN RA - THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SUN

"The Other Side Of The Sun" is a Sun Ra album from 1979. Inititally, it got released on the Sweet Earth label, but in 2000 it got picked up by Universe. If my info is correct, Universe released it on vinyl, on CD in a jewelcase (= the US edition), and on CD in a cardboard cover (= the italian edition).
All these different editions have the same five tracks in common. Side One kicks off with a couple of easy jazz tunes: 'Space Fling', and 'Flamingo'. Both sound very laid back. Track three is a superb 10-minute version of the classic 'Space Is The Place'.
Side two takes the listener to 'the other side' with 'The Sunny Side Of The Street' and even a bit further with the beautiful, experimental big band version of 'Manhattan Cocktail'.

Data have been added to the Sun Ra discography over at the United Mutations Archives.
