Renowned saxophone player Chris Potter's discography is quite impressive.
He has performed and recorded with the Mingus Band, Mike Manieri and Steely Dan to name just three. He also recorded numerous solo albums.
His latest release, "Got The Keys To The Kingdom", presents Chris in a quartet setting :
- Chris Potter - tenor saxophone
- Craig Taborn - piano
- Scott Colley - bass
- Marcus Gilmore - drums.
Recorded in concert at The Village Vanguard in 2022, it does indeed show that these guys do indeed have the keys to the kingdom.
Melodic, soulful and free.
The album includes six tracks: a couple of traditional folk songs and some less known jazz standards,
