NEW RELEASE BY JULIE SLICK

Here’s what Julie says about it:

“surprise!

i wrote and recorded this song on september 11, 2020, while wildfires raged along the west coast of the united states and the resulting smoke invaded the skies of western washington. the air quality level became so bad around seattle that we were advised not to go outside, and even though we've been in quarantine for months, i had to stop going on my daily (masked) walks around the neighborhood... so i was basically stuck in my apartment for two weeks. i cannot lie—it's been a challenging year for creativity, but just before these fires started, i finally came up with this hopeful sounding riff. my basses had been staring at me with special desperation that friday, so i sat at my computer to record this idea. hours disappeared, evening loomed, and i was happy with the day's progress, and the sun shone through my window for the first time in weeks.

feat eric slick on drums+marco machera on add'l bass.

all proceeds from the download of this track will be donated to the ACLU”
