THE NEW SCHOOL SUN RA ENSEMBLE IN CONCERT ON 2010 05 06

On Thursday, May 6th at 9pm, the Ensemble will perform an end of semester
concert at the New School, 55 West 13th, 5th Floor performance space. The
concert is Free and open to the public!

The Sun Ra New School Ensemble directed by Ahmed Abdullah features:
Luther Wong-trumpet
Dean Buck-tenor saxophone
Adam Robinson-baritone saxophone
Jermilino "Dinos" San Pedro-piano
Max Johnson-bass
Kenji Tokunaga-bass
Mack Williams-drums
Kiril Orenstein-drums
Morgane Moulherat-voice

This year's Sun Ra New School Ensemble is comprised of some really gifted
students who work extremely well together. They have taken the music of Sun
Ra and made it into the special music it can become in the hands of folks who
understand its magic. Look to hear Sun Ra classics such as Tapestry From an
Asteroid, Enlightenment, Space is the Place, Saturn and many other
surprises. One can still listen in to the performance done by this group on Louis
