- various artists: frühling '97
(1997, 2cd promo, germany, emi)
My search for albums with cover versions of Frank Zappa tunes resulted in another nice find.
The "Frühling '97" promotional 2 CD set got released by EMI in 1997.
It included George Thorogood's version of FZ's 'Trouble Every Day', taken from his "Rockin' My Life Away" album that got released earlier that year.
I couldn't find a common factor on all the songs that could be found on this album: Robbie Williams, Spider Murphy Gang, Supertramp, Prince, Sinead O'Connor, Foo Fighters,... but also lots of artists that I've never heard of.
Oh well, the Zappa-penned 'Trouble Every Day' is always worth a listen. Even in this strange company of artists.
