Guitarist Chanan Hanspal has released several albums through Bandcamp.
Streaming / download-only, if I'm not mistaken.
The older albums are instrumental, guitar-oriented fusion, while his latest albums are more eclectic, using samples and or vocals / voice.
Nice.
In 2021, Chanan released "Culture Sculpture".
The liner notes read:
"Culture Sculpture" functions within the same conceptual framework as Frank Zappa's "Lumpy Gravy" album from 1968. A framework that incorporates excessive editing and assemblage of sounds and the spoken word. Incongruent musical materials are used to create a concatenation of events which fit into a coherent structure in an amusing and entertaining way.
Since 1993, I have been steadily accumulating music and monologues which would fit into the framework first instigated by Zappa. In some ways, you could say that "Culture Sculpture", is a homage.
