Yes, part eighteen as I will need at least (!!) eighteen posts to tell you about this fabulous festival.
For about four days a year, Bad Doberan (Germany) mutates into Zappa Town.
Artists, bands and ensembles from all over the world are invited to Bad Doberan to celebrate the music of Frank Zappa.
A crowd of melomaniacs celebrates it with them.
This year's edition was a(nother) blast. Napoleon Murphy Brock with Peach Noise, the amazing Mats Öberg, Ike Willis with Zappatika (with special guests Jeff Hollie, Mister Twister, Ed Mann and Denny Walley), and the Banned From Utopia with Robert Martin, Tom Fowler, Ray White and Albert Wing plus Morgan Agren and Robbie Seahag Mangano...
Saturday night, starting at 00h30 at the mystery stage, Z3 performed with special guest (and former Zappa percussionst) Ed Mann.
Beau Sasser : hammond organs/synthesizers/ vocals
Tim Palmieri : guitar/ vocals
Bill Carbone : drums/ vocals
Ed Mann: percussion
Z3 had been at Zappanale two years ago. They came back and did it again.
Fabulous and funky !
My only remark is that these guys should have played a bit sooner.
(I'm too old to be dancing in the middle of the night...)
Check out the Z3 page over at Muffin Records Productions and listen to the show as it was broadcast on German Rockradio :
Or download the radio broadcast from Zappateers.
