French saxophone player and composer David Rueff released a piece entitled ‘Zapaix à Zappa’ on his « Cosmophonic » album.
Subtitled: "Contemporary Mediterranean music", it got recorded by his sextet in 1998 at Studio 103 at the La Maison de Radio France and released later the same year.
In the liner notes, he added:
Neither a homage nor a dedication, just a humble gift.
