During his 70 (!!) years of playing, vibraphonist Tom Collier has released several albums with original material.
The "Boomer Vibes" series, however, will consist of three albums of songs he didn't compose but that were important for him.
Two albums have been released so far: "Boomer Vibes Volume 1" and "Boomer Vibes Volume 2".

Let me start by saying that Tom has an excellent taste in music. The original tunes would make a fine sampler.
And let me immediately add that Tom's renditions are beautifully arranged and include fine solos.

"Volume 1" opens with a fine 6-minute version Frank Zappa's 'Magic Fingers'. What a start !

The disc continues with the Warren/Gordon classic 'At Last', and also includes pieces by Joni Mitchell, Burt Bacharach, The Stones, Carole King, and The Beatles.

"Volume 2" continues in the same vain: great tunes by Jimmy Webb, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Hank Williams, The Stones, Bob Dylan.
