- herbie hancock, wayne shorter, ron carter, wallace roney & tony williams: a tribute to miles
(1994, cd, europe, qwest records)
Much to my delight, I was able to give "A Tribute To Miles" a listen.
Herbie Hancock on piano, Wayne Shorter on tenor and soprano axes, Ron Carter on bass, Wallace Roney on trumpet and Tony Williams on drums.
The album presents both live and studio recordings and is indeed a fine tribute to Miles Davis.

Next to a couple of Miles Davis compositions, the ensemble performs pieces that were written by them while they were in Miles' band, and that were performed by Miles' band !!
Impressive.
01 - So What (Miles Davis)
02 - RJ (Ron Carter)
03 - Little One (Herbie Hancock)
04 - Pinocchio (Wayne Shorter)
05 - Elegy (Tony Williams)
06 - Eighty One (Miles Davis, Ron Carter)
07 - All Blues (Miles Davis)
Here's 'So What', recorded during the ensemble's concert in Munich, Germany.
This is not the version that's on the album, but it'll give you a clue of what to expect (although the album version is even more impressive).
