John Tabacco:
I wrote a bunch of short stories and ran them through ChatGPT. I indicated what style / author I wanted for each story i.e Woody Allen, Edgar Allen Poe, Ray Bradbury, Dorothy Parker, Fitzgerald, Virginia Woolf, David Foster Wallace etc... After which I modified the story to my liking. In some cases I actually read the stories myself but the majority of the orators were culled from elevenLabs.io/speech-synthesis.

FRED FRITH AND THE ARTE QUARTETT - STILL URBAN

In 2009, Fred Frith released two album on the Intakt Records label. Both with the Arte Quartett.
"Still Urban", the first one, is quite experimental.
The Arte Quartett consists of four saxophones. Add Fred Frith on guitar, with written out parts, but also with improvised sections, and you might get a bit of an idea.

Fred's second album with the Arte Quartett ("Big Picture") included a piece that was dedicated to Frank Zappa.

But for now, back to "Still Urban", and the documentary by Guido Henseler and Rudolf Steiner (from 2004) :

Rock Supergroup DarWin Returns With First Single Release “Inside This Zoo” From Upcoming Two Album Sonic Odyssey Feat. Simon Phillips, Greg Howe, Mohini Dey & Others! 

DarWin has been busy in the studio recording not just one but two major albums since 2021. The first big drop, “Inside This Zoo,” is now here!

DarWin’s debut album “Origin of Species” grabbed attention with its mix of virtuoso guitars and symphonic rock. Prog Rock Magazine called it “a rock tour de force.

” Follow up “DarWin 2: A Frozen War” was hailed as “An entertaining Progressive Rock masterpiece!” by Classic Rock

Now DarWin returns with a first single, “Inside This Zoo,” releasing November 3rd. The first full album, tentatively named “DarWin 4,” is now targeted for release in early 2024.

 “Inside This Zoo” is another powerhouse melodic epic from co-producers DarWin and the legendary Simon Phillips, with co-writer and vocalist Matt Bissonette. 

Mumbai-born bass sensation Mohini Dey has joined Team DarWin and brings her iconic low-end wizardry to the groove on the two albums. 

Greg Howe takes his trademark shredding to the next level, sporting his new Lyra guitar with a soaring new tone that promises to melt faces globally. 

Dream Theater’s Derek Sherinian also returns with the group on keys and adds his signature symphonic edge. 

As with previous DarWin releases, Simon Phillips drives the production, leveraging all the wisdom of the history of rock music in the process. 

The accompanying video drops on YouTube and shows the band having an awesome time playing together. The friendship and joy of the music is clearly shining through.

DAVID RUEFF - COSMOPHONIC

• David Rueff: Cosmophonic
      (1998, cd, France, transes européennes)

French saxophone player and composer David Rueff released a piece entitled ‘Zapaix à Zappa’ on his « Cosmophonic » album.
Subtitled: "Contemporary Mediterranean music", it got recorded by his sextet in 1998 at Studio 103 at the La Maison de Radio France and released later the same year.
In the liner notes, he added:
Neither a homage nor a dedication, just a humble gift.
