Emerging from Valence, France, around 2005, Neom was formed as part of a new generation of "Zeuhlers" dedicated to furthering the unique style pioneered by Magma in the 1970s.
The band was a four-piece ensemble featuring: 

• Carole Duchene Sauvage - Fender Rhodes electric piano
• Yannick Duchene Sauvage - guitar and vocals
• William Pawelzik - bass
• Christophe Gratien - drums.

Released by the renowned Soleil Zeuhl record label, the album is said to act as a bridge between the intense, dark energy of pioneers Magma and a cleaner, modern aesthetic.
