Initially intended to be a series of 10 LP's that focused on 20 artists (1 artist per side), The Residents did release two volumes:

• "George & James" in 1984 -> George Gershwin & James Brown
• "Stars & Hank Forever" in 1986 -> John Philip Sousa & Hank Williams

The project never got finished, but was said to include The Residents' deconstructed versions of songs by Sun Ra, Harry Partch, Captain Beefheart, Bob Dylan, and Brian Wilson to name just a few.

This 3 CD set presents the above mentioned two albums with related bonus material (different takes and mixes), plus and amazing 3rd CD with a series of decomposed / recomposed Sun Ra pieces and a lot more.
