The latest news is that it will get a (single LP) vinyl edition as well.

So sad to report another big loss in the Zappa community. Tom Fowler left us yesterday, July 2, 2024. He was a hero to me. The first time I heard Echidna's I almost fell over when he played the big 5/16 lick on the bass! I had no idea that a clumsy bass could do such a thing! He was an inspiration for me to buy a bass and start practicing. I have known him since about 1976. RIP old friend - missing you very much.

TURBULATOR - DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR

Turbulator / Geoff Pointer has just released his first album.
Previously, Geoff had already contributed some Frank Zappa pieces to a couple of Cordelia releases (“Lost Meat - 100% Zappa Rareness” in 2019, and “Would You Like A Snack?” in 2021). 

“Delusions Of Grandeur” presents all original (zappa-esque) music with the liner notes mentioning:
You will find inside, a movie for your ears, a phrase I borrowed from Frank Zappa, who was and still is my biggest musical influence. Stravinsky and Varèse are probably not far behind. 

“Delusions Of Grandeur” is available for download / streaming through Bandcamp but Geoff also produced some CDRs of the album.

Mark Isham's "Music For Film", performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Film Fest Gent music director Dirk Brossé, got released in 2022.
Trumpet solos on selected pieces are played by composer Mark Isham and the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s principal trumpet Thomas Hooten.

This is film music as one would expect it to sound: grand and dramatic.
Very impressive.

MOVING TONES

The Moving Tones featured Frank van der Kooij (sax), Michel Delville (guitar), Catherine Smet (keyboards), Benoît Moerlen (vibes), Guy Segers (bass) and Ivo Sans (drums).

Guy Segers has released several tracks from the band's 2008 concerts in Paris (FR- and Breda (NL) through Bandcamp.

Both concerts included several Frank Zappa compositions.
Too bad that these concerts where not released as a whole.

'Eat That Question', recorded in Breda, got released by Guy a number of years ago already.

Billy Morrison, guitar player for Billy Idol, so I didn't really know what to expect...

FABI SPAMPINATO - LA FORMULA SECRETA DE LA FELICIDAD

Buenos Aires, Argentina-based mutli-instrumentalist and composer Fabian ‘Fabi’ Spampinato  contributed to several Frank Zappa related projects that found their way to the excellent "Unmatched" series that got released by Luis Gonzalez on his Hall Of Fame record label.

For one of his recent albums, "La Formula De La Felicidad", Fabi recorded FZ's 'I'm The Slime', with Mariano ‘Tano’ Bonadío on drums and vocals.

Quite a funky, enjoyable album.
