- boris savoldelli: biocosmopolitan
(2011, cd, usa, moonjune records mjr037)
MoonJune Records has released a new album by vocal wonder Boris Savoldelli. If the name doesn't ring a bell, you absolutely need to check him out.
Boris Savoldelli is not just a great singer, he's a vocal orchestra all by himself.
Recording multiple layers of vocals (and sounds !), Boris creates a very full and powerful sound. It's hard to believe that this is just one guy in a multitrack recording studio. "Biocosmopolitan" presents jazzy, vocal stuff, and features a couple of impressive guest appearances as well. Jimmy Haslip plays astonishing bass on 'Biocosmopolitan', while Paolo Fresu adds great trumpet lines to 'Concrete Clima' and 'Kerouac In New York City'.
Worth checking out.
