With Sun Ra's Lost Reel Collection, the Transparency label gives us access to some of the best Sun Ra Arkestra concerts around.
Volume 5 is no exception. "The Universe Sent Me" takes us back to the early seventies. The album presents takes from two concerts, and both of these show what Sun Ra and his Arkestra were all about. Superb melodies combined with big band jazz and free jazz solos.
From Saturn you say? I don't doubt it for a second.
This is out of this world.
