20 Years of Zappanale in Bad Doberan
5 Days of Zappa-Music and More

The 20th anniversary of Zappanale will be celebrated by an international gathering of musicians, artists and music fans for almost an entire week.

The festival will kick off on the 11th of August, 2009, in the St.Katharinen Kirche in Hamburg where german band Sheik Yerbouti will team up with Napoleon Murphy Brock for a „live and unplugged“ session.

Wednesday, the 12th and Thursday the 13th will have the famous „Streetparty“ in downtown Bad Doberan. Starting at 2 pm in the afternoon, the streetparty will be the place where you will be able to see various bands performing, where movies will be shown, and where you can listen to lectures by concert promotor Fritz Rau and legendary movie maker Rudi Dolezal.

Also noteworthy are the following expositions:

  • Helmut King – Music is the best
  • Frank Zappa Acetates
  • Franks Last Tour – The Yellow Shark Foto Session

And all this is just for starters as the main menu awaits at the Galopprennbahn in Bad Doberan where the three-day music festival will take place.From Friday the 14th until Sunday the 16th, the Zappanale Festival will present an extraordinary collection of bands an artists:

Camping and parking is included in ticket price. The campsite will be accessible from 12.08.2009 on. The tickets are valid for all 5 days in Bad Doberan, excluding the events in the cinema.
