LAZULI ON TOUR

LAZULI - ÊTRE ET NE PLUS ÊTRE

• Lazuli: Être Et Ne Plus Être
      (2026, cd, France, l'abeille rode)

Lazuli has a new album out !
"Être Et Ne Plus Être".

With their recognisable sound, presenting an eclectic mix of indie rock, chanson and folk, but with a raw edge, Lazuli has produced another impressive album.

Melodic, fragile and vulnerable, and also very beautiful.

LAZULI - LORELIVE

• lazuli: lorelive
     (2024, cd/dvd, france, l'abeille rode)

Lazuli performed at the Zappanale festival in 2009 and I've been a fan ever since.
Their latest release presents their concert at the "Night Of The Prog" festival at the Lorelei Amphitheater in St. Goarsgausen, Germany, on July 23, 2022.

The band has gone through some slight changes in the line-up the last couple of years (the last one being Gédéric Byar being replaced by Arnaud Beyney), but that didn't change their overall sound.

Here's an audience recording from "Night Of The Prog": 'Dans les mains de Dieter Böhm', with a major role for Arnaud Beyney !

LAZULI - ONZE

• lazuli: onze
      (2023, cd, france, private release)

Our French friends from Lazuli have just released their 11th album.
Finding the perfect balance between ballads and rock, Lazuli have always succeeded in impressing me.
"Onze" is no exception.

11 beautiful melancholic and dynamic pieces.

The album's preface is clear but hard.
"Why must it take a pandemic, a lock-down, for us to take a break, to stop this frantic rat race?'
"But now, everything has geared back up again. Brutally - and in a climate of total denial. Onec again we're spinning around in circles, like our planet. Once again our dreams of a more virtuous world have dissolved."

Beautiful.

A nice New Year's Greeting card from Lazuli !

LAZULI - DÉNUDÉ

• lazuli: dénudé
      (2021, cd, france, bzz 042)

The official release date for French prog rock band Lazuli's new album is March 16, 2021. That's exactly one year after their latest live concert.
As the title suggests, "Dénudé" (naked & unplugged) offers 16 'unplugged' versions of pieces that got released on their previous albums.

It looks like French and Belgian mail are working better as foreseen as I already received my copy of the album today.
Beautiful !
These stripped down versions only emphasize Lazuli's strongest qualities: melodic songs with impressive (and sometimes evening threatening) guitar sounds.
Love the acoustic piano !!

The CD is available through the band's website:

LAZULI - LE FANTASTIQUE ENVOL DE DIETER BÖHM

• lazuli: le fantastique envol de dieter böhm
      (2020, cd, france, bzz 041)

I received the latest Lazuli album earlier last week, so I already had some fine moments enjoying this album by the French prog-rock band.

I've seen them live (at Zappanale) a couple of times. They never disappointed.
Been buying their albums ever since.
Narrative and bombastic.
French horn and marimba, léode and guitar.
In a beautiful CD/Book package. I love it.

Recommended !!

LAZULI - NOS ÂMES SAOULES - LIVE 2016

• lazuli: nos âmes saoules - live 2016
      (2017, book + dvd, france, bzz 039)

I know, I know. I can be rather delighted or even exalted when I mention some of the albums that I'm listening to, but I can't help it. That's just me.

"Nos Âmes Saoules - Live 2016" captured Lazuli in concert at 'De Boerderij', in Zoetermeer, NL in December 2016.
The video recording of this concert got packed in a 10" picture book.
Beautiful !

A fabulous concert in a beautiful book.

Live at De Boerderij :

LAZULI - NOS ÂMES SAOULES

• lazuli: nos âmes saoules
      (2016, cd, france, bzz 038)

Adding data to the Lazuli discography over at the United Mutations Archives, and enjoying the album at the same time.
That's what it's about.

Lazuli's "Nos Âmes Saoules" (Our Drunken Souls) got released in 2016. It presents ten tracks. Seven powerful and dynamic typical Lazuli compositions, plus three instrumentals.
I love the songs and the arrangements.
Another highlight in the Lazuli discography.

Intense and beautiful. I can't stop listening to this.

LAZULI - SAISON 8

• lazuli: saison 8
      (2018, cd, france, bzz 040)

Progressive rock band Lazuli has a new album out.
"Saison 8" is disc number eight in their discography, not counting a couple of DVD's.

Lazuli has a very distinctive style: a strong rhythm, powerful yet fragile vocals, the screaming léode,... It's dynamic (prog) rock with a fine dose of eastern influences.

I love it.

At the end of their shows, everyone gathers around the marimba...

THE LAZULI UPDATE

French prog band Lazuli has released a new album. It's called "Saison 8".

Their website showed another two released that i didn't know : "Live 2016", a DVD with the 2016 Zoetermeer concert, and "Nos Âmes Saoules" (Our Drunken Souls), from 2016.
