A message from The Residents
Greetings fellow ocular observers,
We sincerely hope you and yours are well during these unprecedented times. Of course, all of our priorities have been brought into sharp focus, but we thought it might provide some light relief to know that, much like you, The Residents are staying home and staying safe at the moment, and hope you’re all managing one way or another.
In the meantime, you may have already heard that the freaky foursome have decided to release their new album, ‘Metal, Meat and Bone – The Songs Of Dyin’ Dog’ into this unpredictable maelstrom, in the hope it might help us all pass an hour or so in familiar surroundings. July 10th will see the album released worldwide in both 2CD and 2LP formats, both of which contain the original ten Dyin’ Dog recordings AND The Residents’ interpretations of them. The 2CD set also includes six new Residents songs written whilst under the influence of Alvin Snow.

The album will also be preceded by a vinyl release of the superb ‘Die! Die! Die!’ single, which anybody who saw the In Between Dreams tour will recall as a highlight of the evening. The Residents’ trusted besties at Psychofon will have the pleasure of releasing their usual plethora of collectors’ editions on May 15th – check out their website for more info too.
In the meantime, this unexpected downtime has given the group time to turn their attention to some other forthcoming projects. The guys would otherwise have been out on tour right now, but instead find themselves putting the finishing touches to the forthcoming ‘Cube-E’, ‘Freak Show’ and ‘Gingerbread Man’ pREServed releases, catching up on the ‘Double Trouble’ film project and considering all kinds of interesting offers from all kinds of interesting people to do all kinds of interesting things. All of which, dear pals, you’ll be the first to hear about the moment anything is set in stone.
