A little while ago, I wrote:

Rapper Pharoahe Monch sampled Frank Zappa's 'Excentrifugal Forz' on his "Internal Affairs" album.
Take a close listening 20 seconds into 'God Send' and you can hear the Excentrifugal woosh. It gets repeated a couple of times.

Some freaks might want to know that this album also got released as a 2LP set.
On the Rawkus label
And did I already mention that the very same Rawkus label issued an instrumental version of this 2LP set? (An instrumental rap album. Yes, I know...)

SUN RA UPDATE

A short update on the recently released "Just Outta This World" compilation of early Sun Ra singles.
The album was released in an edition of 500 copies.
So if you really need this, you probably shouldn't wait too long.

Finishing the weekend with "Boggamasta", the excellent (latest) album by Flat Earth Society.

The vinyl edition of this album counts 6 tracks, but it does come with a download code for the complete 10 tracks, as found on the CD.

I recently got introduced to Phoenician Drive's first release ,"Demos".
"Two Coins" is their second album. Available on 10" EP vinyl and as a download on Bandcamp.

Check them out. This is some great stuff.

SINISTER SISTER PLAYS BARTOK

Sinister Sister is ready for a new chapter in their musical adventure.
Their previous project embraced the music of Frank Zappa.
More recently, they dived into the world of Béla Bartók.

Last Friday, the ensemble played a mesmerizing concert at 'De Singel' in Antwerp, BE.

Performed pieces included Music For Strings, Percussion and Celesta, Concerto For Orchestra, Romanian Dances n°3, and fragments from The Miraculous Mandarin Suite.

This was amazing.
Loved it.
Go see them.
I definitely want to see and hear them again !
