STEVE VAI - NAKED TRACKS VOLUMES VI & VII

Steve Vai's "Naked Tracks" series consists of previously released tracks that have been stripped from their lead guitar part.
As you can imagine, the series is aimed at guitar players (or other musicians) that want to play the lead or want to solo on Steve Vai's backing tracks.
This 2CD set is volume six and seven. The first five volumes got released as a box-set a couple of years ago.

STEVE VAI CONTINUES HIS NAKED TRACKS CD SERIES

GUITAR ALCHEMIST STEVE VAI TO RELEASE NEXT SET OF NAKED TRACKS JUNE 6, 2013 VIA FAVORED NATIONS ENTERTAINMENT

Limited Edition Play-Along CDs; Volume Six Features Selections From Where The Wild Things Are and Sound Theories, Volume Seven Includes All Instrumental Tracks From The Story of Light

Nashville, TN -- May 29, 2013: Virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai will release two new Naked Tracks albums on June 6, 2013. Volume six features selections from Where The Wild Things Are and Sound Theories while volume seven includes all the songs from his latest critically acclaimed, solo release, The Story of Light. Naked Tracks volumes six and seven, which are available to purchase at vai.com physically or through any digital retailer, are the first new releases in this unique series of play-along CDs since 2008.

Designed to give fans an outlet to jam along to his songs backed by a band, Vai does a mix of specific tracks without the lead guitar part when recording his albums. As he explains, The Naked Tracks CDs are the exact tracks from my solo releases without the lead guitar, so you can play, improvise, shred, rap, whatever, on top of the recordings to make it your own.

One way to play along with these tracks is to learn the original guitar parts that are on the album versions of the songs, but I would encourage you to take a more active role in using these tracks as a bed to lay your own creative interpretation over, says Vai. There are really no rules. So sit back, flip on a naked track and dress it up with your own artistic musical apparel.

TODD GRUBBS - TIME, SPACE AND THE ELECTRIC

Todd Grubbs released his fourth solo album in 2008. "Time, Space and the Electric" is one of my favourite Todd Grubbs albums. This is instrumental guitar music at its best. The album is more rock oriented than his previous discs and it sounds great.
Data has been added to the United Mutations Archives.

Zappa and Mothers fans should know that Don Preston plays an outer space moog solo on 'You Are Here'.

TODD GRUBBS - TODDITIES VOLUME 1

After his two first album, "Combination" (1994) and "Beautiful Device" (2004), Todd released a disc called "Toddities". It's a first in a series of albums that collects material that he doesn't see fit on his regular, normal albums.
The biggest part of "Toddities Volume 1" consists of songs from two cassette only E.P.'s., and there's also four new tunes.
I like it.

TODD GRUBBS - BEAUTIFUL DEVICE

Adding data to the United Mutations Archives, here's Todd Grubb's second album: " Beautiful Device". It's a private release from 2004 and it presents some fine instrumental melodic rock and fusion guitar tracks.
Fans of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck and Frank Zappa should definitely check out Todd's music.
"Beautiful Device" is an excellent album.
Food for guitar freaks, and essential listening for melomaniacs.

TODD GRUBBS - COMBINATION

I first heard about Todd Grubbs when Andrew Greenaway mentioned the artists that were participating on his "20 Extraordinary Renditions" Zappa tribute album. Must have been around 2006.
Todd Grubbs is a guitar player. Actually, he's a great guitar player. And he's also a guitar teacher and a composer. If you fancy instrumental guitar music à la Jeff Beck, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, this will be most probably be right up your alley as well.
"Combination" was Todd's first album. It got released in 1994 and presents 11 impressive tracks.

Data added to the United Mutations Archives.
CD available from CDBaby.
