A live recording from Oslo, 2016, with a few overdubs. This is the last show with The Jono El Grande Orchestra aka The Luxury Band before disbanding.

Ridiculously good.

After his "The Avant-Gardist's Dilemma" November 2024 release, my favorite Norwegian composer has  now returned with "Everyone Is Kitschy".

JONO EL GRANDE - MUSIC FROM SCHJETMAN REEF

Norwegian composer Jono El Granda released "Music From Schjetman Reef" through Bandcamp.
In three parts.

Strange melodies and lots of twists and turns. Right up my alley.

a cycle of three pieces that is supposedly to be the cultural legacy of the island Schjetman Reef. It is a phantom island. The piece was written originally for orchestra and singers, in 2007. Rearranged in Hardangervidda Studios in 2016-17, then overdubbed in 2018.

August 2018, Jono El Grande released his 7th album. On iTunes.
Last month, the album got re-released with a different track order, minus one track and remixed as "Artificial Stupidity (2019 Remix)".

I've been enjoying both releases today. I can't really tell what's the difference as I didn't put them next to each other, but I can tell you that I did enjoy it a lot.

Earlier today, I was listening to Jono El Grande's "Melody Of A Muddled Mason".
Released last year, and just beautiful.

Did I ever tell you that the first edition pressing (of 500 copies) of the vinyl album came with a single sleeve CD-version of the album ?
For those of you who don't care about such things, there's also the regular CD digipack version.
