There's always a reason to listen to some Panzerpappa.
"Koralrevens Klagesang", from 2006.
As the album title might predict, "Koralrevens Klagesang" takes of with a lament. It almost sounds like a death march.
From the second piece onwards, however, we return to the more familiar complex and eclectic mix of Panzerpappa.
Nice.

Panzerpappa just released "The Panzerpappa Avant Rock Calendar 2025".

 “It is a common tradition in Norway is to present a small surprise or gift each day of December until Christmas, in the form of an Advent Calendar. Panzerpappa has this year provided their own spin to this tradition by presenting one track from the extensive back catalogue each day accompanied by a video. This is only the second time the band has done this kind of thing, the first time in almost 10 years. This time, each band member chose 5 favourite tracks from the catalogue. And now on Christmas Eve, as a gift to our listeners, we present the collection as a compilation album on Bandcamp. You can pay as little, or as much, as you like. It is all up to you. It got released on the famous Italian Altrock label.

PANZERPAPPA'S REMASTERED RE-ISSUES

Last year, Panzerpappa made some of their older (and out of print) albums available again.

"...passer gullfisk", "Farlig Vandring", and "Hulemysteriet" got remastered and re-issued on CD in limited editions of 100 copies each.

I received my copies a couple of days ago. Beautiful.
Available on Bandcamp, both as digital download / streaming albums and on CD.

PANZERPAPPA - ASTROMALIST

"Astromalist", is the only Panzerpappa album on the Rune Grammofon label.
A bit strange, in my mind, as the band's music fits the label perfectly.

"Astromalist" got released in 2012. Although I had heard of them at the time, my first real encounter with the band was in 2015 at Zappanale.

"Astromalist" features Hans-Petter Alfredsen as a guest musician. When the actual album got released, Hans-Petter had joined the band as a permanent member.

"Astromist" was Panzerpappa's 5th album. It got released on CD and on LP. More recently it was also made available on Bandcamp.

That's 4 random facts that don't tell you how fascinating Panzerpappa's music is.

PANZERPAPPA - LANDSBYSLADDER

I'm enjoying the Bandcamp download of Panzerpappa's brand-new "Landsbysladder" album while I'm typing this.
Out on vinyl and on CD and I'm happy to enjoy the download while I'm waiting for my CD.

Another excellent release by Panzerpappa.

If you visit their Bandcamp page, be sure to check out the remastered re-issues of their first three albums.
"... Passer Gullfisk", "Hulemysteriet", and "Farlig Vandring" have been out of print (and hard to find) for quite a while, but all three got remastered and re-issued last year. Even with a couple of bonus tracks.
Also made available (in limited edition) on CDR.

Anyway, do give "Landsbysladder" a listen.

PANZERPAPPA - PAPPA XMAS' BOX OF AVANT DELIGHT

December 2016, Panzerpappa released "Pappa Xmas' Box Of Avant Delight", an early Xmas gift.

3 hours of Panzerpappa, including pieces that were recorded in concert at Zappanale in 2015.
Pretty amazing.

NEW ALBUM BY PANZERPAPPA

The latest album by Norwegian band Panzerpappa has been released on the Italian Altrock label.

It's called "Pestrottedans" and if you're not counting the two CDR-releases from 2001 and 2003, this is their fourth album.
