After a tumultuous few months,since the last tour,the squeaky new version of ZAPPATiKA has now been finalized and is,may i say, as sharp as a razor, as tight as... a nut and as much fun as a barrel full of chimpanzees on amphetamines -
(Possibly due to all the Italian influence)

The band will start touring again from the end of October 2016 and will produce a new Studio album through the coming Winter.. The latest live album :Welcome to the Starlight Lounge" (featuring Ike Willis) has just been released and is available at online stores.

July 18, 2015, Ike Willis and Zappatika took the stage at the Zappanale festival in Bad Doberan, Germnay. The band had promised to bring Zappa's "Joe's Garage" back to life and had brought along Denny Walley, Ed Mann, Craig 'Twister' Steward and Jeff Hollie for the occasion.
Ike started the gig by telling the audience that they kick off with a couple of his original songs. An excellent idea as I really like Ike's solo albums.
Unfortunately, Ike's voice wasn't up for the job. Traveling, fatigue, who knows, but it was very unfortunate indeed... Great playing, but I lacked the power in Ike's voice.

The concert was made available on DVDR at the festival.

IKE WILLIS - SELECTED WORKS

Former Zappa vocalist Ike Willis released two solo albums: "Shoulda Gone Before I Left" in 1988 and "Dirty Pictures" in 1998. With these two albums out of print, the Uwanna Records label released a compilation album "Selected Works" in 2002.

Ike Willis was the vocalist (and one of the guitarists) in Frank Zappa band for quite a number of years and you can hear it in his compositions.

Recently, at the Zappanale Festival, Ike did a concert with Zappatika. The concert started with three Ike Willis compostions: 'The Doctor Is In', '(Venting The) Krypton Gas' and 'Bizniz As Usual'. The first two can be found on "Selected Works", the latter one had me digging up "Shoulda Gone Before I Left".

"Selected Works" is a great album. It might sound a bit dated, but I really like the compositions and Ike's vocals and guitar parts are great. The album also features Ray White, Arthur Barrow and Jeff Hollie.

You might remember Jeff Hollie as the saxophone player on Zappa's "Joe's Garage" album. Jeff has performed with Ike Willis and Cuccurullo Brillo Brullo, and more recently with Ike Willis and Zappatika.

Seeing Project/Object felt good. It's a nostalgic thing. Seeing Ike, Ray, Denny, Tom and Jeff Hollie one the same stage...
