Today, the search for zappa-esque music brings us Hectic Watermelon.
Hectic Watermelon is John Czajkowski's band and it's described as "a Post-Zappa, commando-fusion band from San Diego/Los Angeles ... ".
On "The Great American Road Trip", the Hectic Watermelon power trio (John Czajkowski - guitar ** Darren Debree - drums ** Harley Magsino - bass) is joined by electric violin legend Jerry Goodman.
It's jazz. It's fusion. It's progressive rock. And it's indeed very zappa-esque compositionwise.
A great discovery.

Bruno Vansina, who you should know as one of the saxophone players of Flat Earth Society, released another album on his RAT Records label.
"Nirvana Bonus And The Demons Of Shame" is a fine, weird little album. Experimental rock and jazz elements are mixed with a fine dose of humour.
I like it.

TOO NOISY FISH - FAST EASY SICK

Peter Vandenberghe on piano, Kristof Roseeuw on double bass, and Teun Verbruggen on drums, that's the line-up of Too Noisy Fish. In this classic piano / bass / drums setting, the threesome offers an interesting album.
"Fast Easy Sick" is a fine piano trio jazz album. It got released on the (Vansina / Verbruggen) Rat Records label.
Worth checking out.
