Earlier this year, Captain Cheesebeard distributed a promotional disc entitled "The Zoom Sessions". It was an mp3-CDR, containing a bunch of CCB live material.
More recently, a 2CDR version of these same recordings have been spotted. This time, in uncompressed AIFF quality, displayed over two discs.
Different artwork as well, as the cover has been dropped, but gorgeous looking labels have been added.

Last year, MoonJune Records released "Disappearance", the latest release by Copernicus.
Compared to "Nothing Exists" (his first records), "Disappearance" has a more powerful approach. Copernicus' texts are agressive & confronting. He yells out that the only world is the subatomic world, as everything is made up out of 12 subatomic particles. Life is an illusion. Time is an illusion. Humanity consists of blind zombies and the only way out is to accept that nothing exists.
"Disappearnce" is a work of art. This is great stuff.
And the most impressive thing is that as Copernicus tells his story, the music is improvised by the band behind him.

The original album has been remasterd, the tracks have been re-arranged, and an incredible amount of bonus material has been added.
Mats and Morgan's "The Music Or The Money..." has always been one of my favourite albums. This re-release not only confirms this. It even emphasizes this.
Did I tell you that the album also includes a couple of quite recognisable Zappa licks?
I love it.

The PAL Studio Band (with Frank Zappa) performs 'I'm Losing Status At The High School'. Does that ring any bells?
And volume seven also includes The Penguins with the Zappa-penned 'Memories Of El Monte'.

In 1981 and 1982, Sun Ra released "Beyond The Purple Star Zone" and "Oblique Parallax" on his private Saturn label.
The discs were pressed in limited runs, and were sold at concerts.
Art Yard has now re-released these albums on one CD. A beautiful package, combined with music that is not from this world.
There's a lot of solo Sun Ra synth material on it. Incredible stuff.
Most of this, if not all of this, can probably be found on the Transparancy Detroit Jazz Center Box, but still an essential release.
