FRANK ZAPPA IN THE PAPERS

I used to look out for magazines that had Frank Zappa on the cover or that featured FZ-articles inside the mag.
In recent months, I only added two pieces to the (ridiculous) collection :

Mojo issue 300 as it carried a 6-page interview (from 1991).

And the fabulous East Coast Rocker.
Huge format, nice cover and a three page interview.
Received it as a gift from Joel. Out of the blue. Thanks again, Joel !! 

INTIGE TALUURE - TIGER! TIGER! STEER CLEAR OF HEAVEN

Intige Taluur, formerly known as Phlitman & Kang, released their first full (vinyl) album in 2018.
As I finally managed to add the data to the United Mutations Archives, I'm happy to mention it again.

Experimental music by Jean-Marie and Kim. Great stuff.

Pre-ordered copies of this album received an original drawing, a hand-written lyric sheet, a picture postcard, and an envelope with pieces of the branches that were used in the photo shoot...
Limited to 198 vinyl copies, but if I'm not mistaken, there are still some copies available.

GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW - A THOUGHTIVERSE UNMARRED

Georgia Anne Muldrow's "A Thoughtiverse Unmarred" includes the track 'Arkansas' in which Georgia Anne sampled Frank Zappa.
The Zappa part is taken from FZ's appearance on 1981/10/26 on "The Freeman Report" on CNN.

Also released on vinyl in a limited edition on purple/black splatter vinyl. Beautiful.

JUICY LUCY - THE BEST OF JUICY LUCY

• juicy lucy: the best of juicy lucy
      (1974, lp, ger, island records)

Juicy Lucy recorded Frank Zappa's 'Willie The Pimp' and released it on their "Lie Back And Enjoy It" album in 1970.
The track can be found on various compilation albums, including this "The Best Of Juicy Lucy", originally released in 1974 and re-issued in 1978.

NEW CORDELIA SAMPLER

Here's a bit of extra info on the new sampler that got released by Cordelia records, "I Walked out into the Night and the Vegetables Began to Howl: The Second Cordelia Records Sampler".

It includes a couple of Zappa cover tunes from previous Cordelia releases : The Spanner Jazz Punks with 'Lumpy Gravy', Chato Segerer with 'Rollo', and the Zappatistas with 'Oh No.

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART - TROUT MASK HOUSE SESSIONS 1969

A couple of months ago, I mentioned "Just Got Back From The City" and "Electricity 1967-1968", two albums that had been issued by Greyscale / Gonzo Multimedia and were exact copies of two discs from the "Grow Fins" box set.
It looks like there's a third album in this series.
"Trout Mask House Sessions" includes material from discs three and four from the very same "Grow Fins" box set.
Advice: go for the "Grow Fins" box set and forget about this Greyscale albums.
