For his latest release, "Buch Der Dinge", Pierre Vervloesem teamed up with Anja Kowalski (vocals) and Teun Verbruggen (drums).
The result sounds great.
Anja Kowalski's narrative and story-telling voice takes you along through the different pieces. Closer listening reveals that she also cites fragments from Wikipedia. Wonderful.
The music itself sounds like soundscapes, almost like improvised pieces. These would be perfect, but Anja's added voice lifts it to something that's even more enjoyable.
I never thought I'd say this about Pierre's music, but "Buch Der Dinge" is quite charming and endearing.
Also tragic and funny, as life is. But also charming and endearing.

Which reminds me: Anja Kowalski was part of Flat Earth Society for a certain time, or at least she took part in the recording of several album. I definitely need to revisit these.
