In about two weeks, Australian trio The Necks will be performing at De Singel in Antwerp, Belgium.
I'm listening to their latest album ("Bleed") while I'm typing this, and I have to admit that the music pulls you in. Completely.
The Necks features Chris Abrahams on keyboards, Lloyd Swanton on bass, and Tony Buck on drums.
And they improvise.
The result, with "Bleed" as an example, sounds quite experimental. Jazzy at times, but mostly as an experimental musical wandering.
"Bleed", the album, only includes one piece, also called 'Bleed' and it's about 40 minutes long.
Amazing and bewildering.
